This article was written after the kick off of a project I was invited to work on. The project is about the mine workers in Limburg. It is a 100 years ago the mines opened in Limburg. It has been a great influence on the culture, landscape and community of the region. I was asked to make a couture piece that reflects on the Polish mineworkers. After I made a commercial translation that was made by 100% Heerlen, a workshop for young women. The commercial piece has the same influences as the couture piece, but is it more wearable. It is a dress made of cotton with elements of the blouses the mineworkers would wear. This pieces is made 10 times and are sold in the Mineshop in Heerlen for the entire year.
